Sandra Kay Popa, 81, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on November 30, 1944, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Paul and Edna Pointer, she grew into a woman defined by strength, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those she held close.
Known affectionately as Sandy, she was a strong and determined single mother who poured her heart into raising her four children: Christopher (Kimberly) Hull, Rebecca (Kyle) Deller, Heidi (Tom) Deller, and her beloved son Robert (Doris) Hull, who preceded her in death. Her family was her world, and she built a life centered on love, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment.
Sandy is survived by her children and four siblings—Larry Pointer, Jeffrey Pointer, Eric (Tsuyako) Pointer, and Angela (Steve) Schwartz—as well as ten grandchildren: Christopher, Andrew, Jenna, Delaney, Keegan, Gabrielle, Madison, Sidney, Dakota, and Jacob. She was also blessed with seven great‑grandchildren: Lillian, Christopher, Jaxson, Theadora, Khaleesi, Freya, and Emry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Edna; a brother, Gregory (Chip); and her son, Robert.
In retirement, Sandy found joy in simple, peaceful pleasures—quiet days in the Florida sunshine, a good book in hand, and the comfort of knowing her family continues to grow and flourish. Being the matriarch of such a large, loving family was her greatest pride and her most cherished accomplishment.
In her final season of life, Sandy embraced her faith with a full and open heart. She became a believer in Christ and found deep peace in the promise of eternal life. In her last days, she felt the comfort in knowing she would spend eternity in Heaven. Her family gathered close, sharing memories, love, and meaningful conversations about faith and the hope that carried her so gently into rest. She faced her passing with calm assurance and a heart at peace.
Sandy leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, strength, and faith—one that will continue to grow through the generations she nurtured. Her family will forever carry her spirit forward.
“May His favor be upon you for a thousand generations and your family and your children, and their children, and their children.”
Momma, we will love you longer than forever. Thank you for loving us.
