Luz Maria Velazquez Ramirez

Luz Maria Velazquez Ramirez, a beloved mother and devoted servant of God, passed away on September 6, 2025, in Sebring, Florida. Born on January 5, 1949, in Moca, Puerto Rico, Luz lived a life rich in love, faith, and service, touching the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She was a light to those around her.

Luz dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family and her faith, shaping a legacy that will be passed down for generations. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 57 years of marriage, Victor Manuel Matos Ortiz, whose partnership with her was a testament to mutual love and compassion. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, which includes their loving daughters, Marisel, Lucy, and Melissa. Luz took immense pride in being a mother, always offering guidance, unconditional love, and support.

Luz's light shone even brighter through her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren were everything to her. Even throughout her 27 years of illness, she poured her heart into creating precious moments with them, making each day a celebration of life. The bonds they shared were filled with immeasurable amounts of love.

Throughout her life, Luz lived with grace and devotion, praising and serving the Lord with an unwavering faith that inspired those around her. Her spirit was infectious, and she touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion.

Luz will be deeply missed by her beloved brothers — Raul, Polo, Carmelo, and Eugene — as well as her extended family and a circle of loving friends who were fortunate to witness the warmth of her spirit.

Please join her loved ones to honor Luz's memory on September 10, 2025, at Avalon Church in Orlando, Florida. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, as family and friends come together to celebrate the remarkable life of this incredible woman.
