Kathleen Marie Casey Dawe was born in Boston MA on April 8, 1941 and passed away on July 6, 2025 in Orlando, Florida.
Kathleen attended St. Luke's School in Belmont, MA, and was a graduate of Rosary Academy in Watertown, MA. She later attended the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston and became a legal secretary. She went on to work in the office of former Massachusetts Attorney General Edward Brooke, after a stint at the TWA sales office on Boylston St in Boston.
She later served as secretary to Judge Walter Jay Skinner, who presided over the case that inspired the movie Erin Brockovich.
She traveled to Ireland, where her parents were born, by Cunard ship with her sister Margaret. She spent an idyllic summer with her maternal grandfather Patrick 'Pope’ Kane at his thatched cottage in County Leitrim along with her Aunt Margaret Ellen and Uncle Frank. In County Mayo she visited cousins at Ballaghadreen.
In the 1970s, Kathleen went to nursing school and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she courageously cared for many AIDS patients during the initial 1980s outbreak, when the disease was not fully understood.
Kathleen married David B Dawe of Lynn, MA in 1982, and soon after welcomed the arrival of their only child, Brian. The family moved from Belmont, MA to Orlando, Florida in 1987 and resided in the family home in East Orlando since 1989.
In the 1990s and beyond, Kathleen was a homemaker, providing a loving home for her family, who adored and loved her dearly.
Kathleen is survived by her only child, Brian Dawe of Orlando, Florida, brother James Casey of Sudbury, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her niece, Maureen Sorrell of Newton Highlands, MA, and nephew William Forry of Dorchester, MA, by her cousin William Kane of Palm Beach, FL, and dear friend Dennis Marsicano of Sudbury, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Harvey and grand daughter dog, Eva.
She is predeceased by her husband David B. Dawe, father Martin Casey and mother Mary Katherine Casey (Kane) of Belmont, MA, Sisters Margaret of Fredericksburg, VA, and Mary Casey Forry, of Boston, MA.
