James "Jim" Joseph Serge, 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Friday morning, June 5th, 2026. He was born on September 2nd, 1960, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to Elaine F. Serge (nee Hagar) and Edward R. Serge. He attended Woodbridge High School and was a resident of Woodbridge, New Jersey until 2000 and Brick Township, New Jersey until 2007 before settling in Orlando, Florida. He worked diligently as a Senior Sales Associate at Rooms 2 Go, 3 months shy of 20 years, where he achieved membership of their distinguished Million Dollar Club.

Jim was blessed with the meeting of the love of his life on Super Bowl Sunday 1995, Patricia L. Serge (nee Davis), and married that same year, spending over 30 years in love. Together they shared a lifetime of memories and 3 children, one who passed at birth, named Sierra.

Jim was a fierce provider and a man who made things happen. He will be remembered for his goofy antics and endearing, yet dated, sense of humor. As a lover of music, from Weezer to Elvis Costello, he was often known to burst in song, although off-key, and strike a pose. Jim took great pride and pleasure in maintaining his home and, specifically, his lawn. He looked forward to his evenings tending to his backyard fire pit where he could throw the ball for his dogs and gaze at the night sky. An avid believer in aliens, Jim was also out-of-this-world.

He is survived by his 4 children: Kurt and Steven Serge, from a previous marriage, Julie and Jimmy Serge, 5 granddaughters with one on the way, his many nieces and nephews, his sister Susan Serge of Deluth, Georgia, his brother Paul Serge of Woodbridge, New Jersey and is predescesed by his beloved sister Beverlyann F. Sandor (nee Serge) who passed at 57 in 2005. Jim is also predeceased by his best friend, Mike Shue, another esteemed Rooms 2 Go colleague who passed six months prior.

As an expression of sympathy, the memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 11th 2026, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Avalon Park Funeral and Cremation Services located at 3680 Avalon Park E Blvd Suite 330, Orlando, FL 32828. All are welcome to attend to celebrate and remember the life of our dearly departed James "Jim" Joseph Serge.
